The Admiral's Glacier

The Admiral’s Glacier is a magic item found aboard the GLS Anghymodlon. The item’s history was created by playing Artefact by Jack Harrison. It was created for #dungeon23.

The Admiral’s Glacier

Traits

  • Clockwork - intricate, elegant and always correct.
  • Whispering - the watch’s ticks are noticeably louder whenever time is running out.
  • Summoning - someone or something always arrives just in the nick of time to save the wearer.

Newly-forged

Luned Glace

This pocket watch was first crafted by the famed metalworker Luned Glace. She was known for seeking out and crafting with rare and precious metals. Over time, her pieces were referred to as Glaciers and are highly sought out, especially by the nobility of Gwerddonau Llion.

The watch is expertly crafted from Osmium ore and its casing is a light and polished blue-grey. Luned travelled and sought out the special ore herself. It is engraved with an intricate “LG” on its back.

Keepers

Talwaith Days

Luned gifted the pocketwatch to her partner Talwaith Days, a local rebel leader. Talwaith is inspiring, rebellious and driven. Talwaith uncovered and revealed a corrupted trafficking ring within the royal court. She would forever be hunted by the nobility and was eventually imprisoned for whatever charge they could muster.

Haf Bellin

A decade passed and Talwaith died in prison. The watch was auctioned off. Its new owner would not enjoy it for long however, as it would be stolen by the legendary Haf Bellin. Haf uses the pocket watch to rob banks and give the money to the poor. He is never caught and always seems to have good luck whilst the watch is in his possession. Eventually, Haf completes his biggest heist yet - jewels from the royal court.

Neifin Bellin

Haf lives as a rich man and has a family. He gifts the pocket watch to his youngest son, Neifin. Neifin grows up and joins the royal navy. Throughout his long career, he rises to the rank of Admiral.

Found

When the players find the Admiral’s Glacier they notice that the watch’s ticks are very loud. Alas, as the glacier was stored in a box aboard the ship and not on the admiral’s person, they did not arrive in time to save Neifin.

The Admiral’s Glacier would surely be worth a pretty penny, but the Bellin family would handsomely reward the players for the priceless heirloom.
