Forgotten Grimoire of the Entombed Wizard is a list of 216 spells. It is also a basic magic system, forming part of an upcoming d6 system called Oraia. Roll three six-sided dice to determine which spell your character has found.

History

This spell list is a continuation of the list first found in Ben Milton's Knave as 100 level-less spells. Other versions of the spell list have appeared in different systems, including Cairn by Yochai Gal. It also features a 2d6 magic system, with elements borrowed from both Cairn by Yochai Gal and the upcoming MCDM RPG. All of the spells use "squares" to measure distance and it is assumed that all damage is determined by a 2d6 roll. 

These spells will be compatible with traditional OSR systems and modern games with a bit of conversion. There are just a few references to the stats in Oraia and most spell descriptions are system-agnostic.

Oraia uses just d6 dice, so 100 spells weren't quite enough. I needed 216 for a 3d6 table. This is the result. I have rewritten the spells I have found as much as I can, whilst maintaining their mechanics and I've filled in the blanks.

P.S.

A note on character agency. A lot of these spells can do some pretty terrible things to other people. The spell system has been woven in such a way that using these spells on an unwilling creature has real, immediate and long-term negative effects for the caster to discourage, but not prevent their use.
